Business Competition Committee (BCC)

The Business Competition Committee (BCC) of the Department of Management Studies, NALSAR University of Law, is a student-driven initiative dedicated to nurturing competitive spirit, strategic thinking, and problem-solving excellence among management students. Established with the goal of preparing students to excel in national and international business competitions, the committee acts as a bridge between academic learning and real-world corporate challenges.

BCC actively guides students through the nuances of case-solving, business simulations, and strategy formulation. It provides mentorship, conducts preparatory workshops, and shares resources that help participants refine their analytical, presentation, and teamwork skills. By engaging with diverse formats—ranging from consulting and marketing to finance and sustainability competitions—the committee encourages students to think critically, innovate effectively, and present ideas with impact.

A major highlight in BCC’s annual calendar is its flagship event “Mentora”, held on 21st March. The event featured an insightful session by a guest speaker who shared practical strategies on approaching and solving case competitions, followed by an engaging case challenge with 571 Registrations and 34k+ Impressions. It allowed students to apply the learning in real time. Mentora not only enhanced participants’ understanding of structured problem-solving but also fostered collaboration and peer learning within the cohort.

With its commitment to building a culture of continuous learning and competitive excellence, the Business Competition Committee continues to empower students to approach challenges with confidence, creativity, and strategic foresight—qualities essential for future business leaders.

The SAC Cultural Committee

The SAC Cultural Committee is the core of the artistic life of the college. We are the ones who bring sounds, visuals, attractiveness, and the loving nature that transform a college into a community. Our motto is one: to make moments for students that will last beyond the semester. We don’t think events like a huge cultural fest or a small open mic are different; we see them as opportunities to turn every occasion into something personal, approachable, and cheerful.

To us, culture is not merely an activity but rather an experience shared amongst people. It is the laughter during a late-night event, the applause in a performance, the silent bond in a song, and the unexpected memories created on the way. These moments are what the Cultural Committee is all ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌about.

What Drives Us

  • Creativity

We love exploring new ideas, sometimes planned, sometimes spontaneous. Our events grow out of imagination and student energy.

  • Inclusivity

Anyone can participate. You don’t have to be a singer, dancer, or artist. You just have to be willing to show up and enjoy the vibe.

  • Community

Every event is built around one intention: bringing people together. We want campus to feel like home.

  • Student-Led Spirit

Everything we do is created by students, for students. That’s what keeps CULT COM real and relatable.

  • What We Do

Across the year, we host a mix of cultural experiences:

  • Open mics and music nights where students can sing, play, recite, or just listen.
  • Festive celebrations and theme days that bring the campus alive.
  • Creative workshops for learning, experimenting, and collaborating.
  • Pop-up mini events, the little surprises that brighten an ordinary day.

The Diwali Jamming Session –  A Special Moment

One of our favourite moments this year was the Diwali Jamming Session. The idea started within CULT COM as a simple thought: What if we created a space where people could just gather, sing, relax, and enjoy the Diwali mood together?

But the real magic happened when Akshat (IPM 1st Year) took that small idea and turned it into something beautiful. Everyone, including from the SBC CULT COM members who helped set things up to all the students who joined in, contributed to making the evening feel special. But Akshat really became the heart of the night. As the main performer, his voice added a calm, peaceful vibe that made the whole moment feel magical.

Pretty lamps, cheerful aura, guitars, and voices intermixing, people sitting together on the stands and the turf, was all obtained in a manner which was very natural and pure. The session turned out to be one of the main moments of Diwali on the campus and was a reminder of the importance of culture as it gives happiness, solace, and ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌togetherness.

Looking Ahead

The cultural committee is constantly dreaming about what’s next. We plan to:

  • Develop more cultural events
  • Create signature traditions for the campus
  • Give more students chances to perform and express themselves
  • Make culture a continuous part of everyday student life

We want every student to feel like they have a place in the committee, whether they’re performing on stage or simply enjoying the atmosphere.

The Debating Committee

The Debating Committee serves as the central hub for fostering analytical thinking, structured argumentation, and informed dialogue within the university. Rooted in the principles of intellectual curiosity and academic rigor, the committee focuses particularly on debates related to business strategy, economic policy, public policy, and contemporary global issues. By engaging students in discussions that mirror real-world decision-making and corporate governance, the committee helps develop competencies essential for future leaders, policymakers, and business professionals. Our primary mission is to promote, organize, and facilitate all debating activities across the university. The committee ensures that students have continuous opportunities to refine their reasoning, presentation, and persuasion skills through a range of well-structured events. These include workshops on argumentation frameworks, policy analysis sessions, and practice debates designed to strengthen both content knowledge and delivery.

We place a strong emphasis on debates grounded in economic reforms, corporate strategy, regulatory environments, sustainability, and public-policy evaluation areas that enhance students’ understanding of the business world and societal challenges. A vital function of the committee is to maintain active contact with universities, institutions, and organizations that host debate competitions. We regularly communicate invitations, facilitate registrations, and guide students through the entire participation process. From preparing case briefs to organizing mock rounds, the committee provides comprehensive support to ensure teams are well-prepared and confident. This structured assistance not only enhances performance but also encourages broader participation by reducing logistical and academic barriers for students passionate about debating.

The Committee also hosts practice debates, workshops, orientations, and training sessions, particularly for first-time debaters who wish to explore the art of structured argumentation. These sessions focus on building foundational skills such as evidence-based reasoning, economic impact assessment, policy critique, and efficient team coordination. By nurturing both beginners and experienced debaters, we aim to cultivate a vibrant and inclusive debating culture within the university. Beyond competitions, the Debating Committee remains committed to other debate-related functions necessary to advance critical thinking and public discourse on campus. Our vision is to create an environment where students confidently engage with the complexities of the business landscape, challenge assumptions, and articulate informed viewpoints skills that hold immense value in the corporate, legal, and policymaking spheres.

For the students to stay motivated, the committee has an inbuilt reimbursement policy for the participants, subject to fulfillment of their criteria, which is governed by our grundnorm, the committee’s constitution. This will not only support students’ finances but also be a major factor in motivating the students to participate and involve themselves more actively in various kinds of debate competitions.

Fund Enable Workshop | 19 March 2025

In partnership with Fund Enable and Fortemagna Advisors Pvt. Ltd., E-Comm hosted an intensive, practice-oriented workshop facilitated by industry veterans Mr. Dinesh Israni and Mr. Sameer Shaikh. The session engaged over 50 participants in deep-dive modules on value proposition articulation, lean start-up methodology, term sheet fundamentals, and investor psychology. Investor’s Table – WINNOW ’25 | 4 April 2025

As the marquee entrepreneurship vertical of “WINNOW”, NALSAR’s flagship national management fest, “Investor’s Table” provided a rigorous, pitch-competition format simulating early-stage venture evaluation. Drawing 28 high-calibre teams—including cross-institutional participants—the hybrid event challenged contestants to defend unit economics, GTM scalability, and defensibility under scrutiny from a distinguished jury:

  • Prof. Som Banerjee (Academic & Policy Advisor, Entrepreneurship Ecosystems)

The competition underscored E-Comm’s commitment to benchmarking student ventures against industry standards, while reinforcing the integration of legal acumen into business model design—a distinctive NALSAR advantage.
