Overall, the club’s goal is to help students understand how data can be used in business decision-making and to give them hands-on exposure. It’s run by students, so you see roles like Secretary, Vice-President, event heads, etc. It really helps people build analytical thinking, gain industry exposure, and participate in competitions that develop real skills.”

Operation Mania

Operations Mania is the student-driven club that brings the world of operations to life at the Department of Management Studies, NALSAR University of Law. The idea is simple. Operations isn’t just theory on a board. It’s planning, problem-solving, flow, bottlenecks, decisions, and real-world impact. Our club gives students a space to explore all of that in a hands-on, engaging way.

Here’s the thing—students learn best when they try things, break things, fix things, and repeat. That’s why the club focuses on building practical exposure across Operations Research, Supply Chain Management, Process Excellence, Quality Tools, and emerging industry practices. What this really means is a mix of activities that push students to think, collaborate, and experiment.

Across an academic year, we host two major highlights:

OPTRIX – National Case Study Competition
Our flagship event, OPTRIX, brings participants from across the country to solve complex, real-world operations challenges. It’s competitive, intense, and one of the best platforms for students to test their analytical thinking and decision-making skills.
Our flagship event, OPTRIX 3.O, gathers talent from across India to solve complex, real-world operational challenges. Most recently, we ran it through Unstop and achieved impressive reach: 1,10,533 impressions and 1746 registrations from participants from multiple institutes. It’s competitive, intense, and one of the best platforms for students to test their analytical thinking and decision-making skills.
OPTRIX runs in multiple rounds. It usually starts with a problem statement that tests basic understanding of operations and analytical thinking. The shortlisted teams then move to a deeper case where they must present structured solutions backed by data, logic, and practicality. The final round is where the real action happens—presentations judged by industry experts, professors, and professionals who know exactly how operational decisions play out on the ground.

For participants, OPTRIX feels like a short, intense journey through the real world of supply chains, process bottlenecks, resource allocation, service design, and everything in between. For us, it’s a way to build a culture of curiosity, teamwork, and sharp problem-solving on campus.
